Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: May 4, 2026
1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements our Terms of Service and describes the conduct and usage limits that apply to all users of ULink (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this AUP from time to time without amending the Terms of Service; the version posted on this page is the version in force.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
You may not use the Service, or allow anyone using your account, API keys, or links, to:
- distribute malware, ransomware, phishing pages, credential harvesters, or other malicious software;
- host, mask, or redirect to content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, or that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- facilitate spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, SMS pumping, or any campaign that violates anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and PECR);
- distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that exploits minors, or content that incites violence or terrorism;
- impersonate another person, brand, or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or authentication features of the Service or any third-party platform;
- use the Service to attack, probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without authorization;
- cloak, obfuscate, or rapidly rotate destination URLs to evade safety checks, ad-network policies, app-store policies, or browser safe-browsing systems; or
- resell, rent, or sublicense the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted by your plan.
3. Fair Use Thresholds
Most ULink plans are not metered with hard caps. The thresholds below describe what we consider "typical" usage. Sustained usage above these levels is not automatically a violation, but it may trigger an account review, a request to upgrade, or rate-limiting under the Fair Use clause of our Terms.
- Redirect traffic: sustained traffic that is materially higher than the median of other customers on the same plan, or that exceeds bursts of more than 10x your typical 7-day average.
- API requests: short-term bursts above the documented per-key rate limits, or sustained throughput materially above the limits associated with your plan.
- Link creation: bulk creation patterns consistent with automated link farming, SEO manipulation, or click-fraud infrastructure rather than genuine product or campaign use.
- Storage and retention: link, event, and analytics data retained beyond the retention window included with your plan.
- Custom domains: domains added at a rate or volume inconsistent with normal product use, or domains used to mask the origin of unrelated third-party traffic.
The specific numeric limits for each plan are published on our pricing page and in your dashboard, and may be updated as the Service evolves.
4. Automated Traffic and Bots
Click events generated by bots, headless browsers, link previewers, security scanners, or other non-human agents do not count toward your usage allowances and may be filtered from analytics. We reserve the right to discount, charge for, or block traffic that we determine in good faith to be inflated, fraudulent, or non-human.
5. Enforcement
If we believe that your usage violates this AUP or the Terms of Service, we may, at our discretion and depending on severity:
- contact you to discuss the activity and request remediation;
- throttle or rate-limit affected projects, links, domains, or API keys;
- disable specific links, domains, or API keys;
- require an upgrade to a higher plan that better matches your usage; or
- suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, where the activity poses an immediate risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
Where practical we will give you an opportunity to address the issue before taking action, but we may act immediately in cases involving security risks, abuse, illegal content, or threats to Service availability.
6. Reporting Abuse
If you believe a ULink link or account is being used in violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@ulink.ly with the offending URL and any supporting context. We investigate reports promptly and will take action where appropriate.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our operational practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this AUP was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
